The market town of Rye acts as a service centre for the rural hinterland which extends to the fringes of Ashford and Shepway. Current Local Plan policies recognise the town's unique historic, maritime and environmental qualities. In this regard our client considers Development Option 1 is most appropriate, so as to enhance the role of Rye as a service centre.
