Proposed Submission Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan

Representation ID: 24061

Respondent: Mrs Angela Kinzett

Legally compliant? No

Sound? No

Duty to co-operate? No

Representation Summary:

Limited retail investment and high business rates has resulted in a town centre which presents as a crumbling, out of date, unattractive place to go. Whilst the seafront has a certain old fashioned attraction, the shopping area offers little to younger holiday makers, or to people with money to spend in the area.

Re. Soundness Test - I do not believe that the local community is involved in local planning eg. DaSA. So many people have not been aware of this document. Once accessed, it is vast and demands hours of reading and understanding before putting forward view points and trying to understand the three questions posed if one objects to a proposal. The council should seriously consider how to further improve communication with the residents and rate payers of the area.
