Both the Environment Agency and Natural England have questioned the suitability of this site for residential development. The assessments carried out so far do not show that the proposed SuDS design will provide adequate protection to the Pevensey Levels to protect them in perpetuity from water borne pollution. I understand that any permission granted without the approval of these two agencies will result in a legal challenge.
Moreover, the whole site is subject to flooding - why build houses on a site that floods regularly?
