Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan - Options and Preferred Options

Representation ID: 23876

Respondent: Mr & Mrs Roy & Carol Bourne

Representation Summary:

The access which is to be used is already well used, plus the people who live there have to park on the road. The lorries which would use the road while the houses were being built, and then the additional traffic once they are completed would cause havoc. The B2082 that the traffic exits on to, is on a bend, which is an additional hazard.

Although the hall has a sizeable car park, it is never enough so people park in Elmsmead.

Surely there are other sites in Iden that are far more suitable.

I am writing regarding the proposed building behind the house in Iden that used to be Conkers. The access which is to be used, Elmsmead estate, is already well used, plus the people who live there have to park on the road. The lorries which would use the road while the houses were being built, and then the additional traffic once they are completed would cause havoc.. The B2082 that the traffic exits on to, is on a bend, which is an additional hazard.

I organise and run jumble sales and coffee mornings in Iden Village Hall and although the hall has a sizeable car park, it is never enough so people park in Elmsmead.

Surely there are other sites in Iden that are far more suitable and wouldn't clog up one small road, and upset and distress so many people.

I hope to hear that you have refused this planning application as it has been 3 or 4 times in the past.
