Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan - Options and Preferred Options

Representation ID: 23162

Received: 19/02/2017

Respondent: Mrs Jennifer Barnes

Representation Summary:

The number of houses proposed are too many. This is a massive proportion to the village total and not in keeping with the interests of the village or countryside.

Access and road safety is a major problem. To move the zebra crossing will cause undoubted safety issues especially for school children as they always cross where there is clear view on the current zebra crossing.

The current local road speed watch on this road shows the speed is between 38-55 well over the 30mph limit and any further developments with another junction to cross will cause more disruption.

Catsfield housing development:

The number of houses proposed are too many for the area and it's usual level of development. This is a massive proportion to the village total and not in keeping with the interests of the village or countryside.

The access and road safety is a major problem. To move the zebra crossing will cause undoubted safety issues especially for school children as they always cross where there is clear view on the current zebra crossing.

The current local road speed watch on this road already shows the speed is between 38-55 not well over the 30mph limit and any further developments where there is yet another junction to cross for access will cause more disruption to our village and what should be preserved as a countryside village.
