Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan - Options and Preferred Options

Representation ID: 22899

Received: 15/02/2017

Respondent: Mr J F A Morris

Representation Summary:

1.This village simply cannot take any further substantial extra units.
2. Peasmarsh is a "AONB" and Peasmarsh is full of many sizes "water springs", With the ground levels being altered, it caused many of these "springs" into life, quite a few of our neighbours had to have their rear gardens dug up, and large excavations took place. The end result was that we all had to have large stone filled cages inserted.

3. The infrastructure of Peasmarsh is at breaking point.

Peasmarsh, quite simply, cannot take on this type of proposal as it would cause/create many problems for residents.

I was totally surprised to learn of the above proposal, and accordingly wish to place on record my objections to this proposal as under:

1. I have lived in Peasmarsh for almost 20 years, during which time little bits and pieces of additional units has taken place. This village simply cannot take any further substantial extra units.
2. Peasmarsh is a "AONB" and, as we found out when we moved in 21998, the "Area" of Peasmarsh is full of many sizes "water springs", With the ground levels being altered, it caused many of these "springs" into life, to such an extent, quite a few of our neighbours had to have their rear gardens dug up, and large excavations took place. The end result was that we all had to have large stone filled cages inserted. It took the builders a long time, and all our gardens were in a terrible condition for months (including 38 Farleys Way). We contacted the NHBRC who visited the site/s and were astonished at what they saw, and said that they would resist any applications for new dwellings in and around our area.
3. The infrastructure of Peasmarsh (stormwater - foul water sewerage) were at breaking point when we moved in 1998. Nothing has been done on these points, so why keep adding more and more units to an already overloaded/overworked system. The village has one small primary school and no secondary education schools. They cannot take the number that this plan calls for. Transport already uses the A268 as a race track to Rye, Camber, and beyond and, again, I do not think the Council is looking at this proposal in any other way than to bow down to central government.
4. Other areas that would be greatly affected is the medical facture. It is already close to bursting point. Yet you want to add more - say 45 units at an average of 3 per unit = a minimum of an extra 135 people to be looked after.

Finally, all in all, this proposal is to say the lease poorly though out, and if planners are under so much pressure from central government, they should be looking elsewhere. Peasmarsh, quite simply, cannot take on this type of proposal as it would cause/create many problems for residents - please think again and remove this proposal from your plans.
I look forward to your reply in due course.
