We would prefer to see a policy in DEN4(ii) 'to prevent a net loss of biodiversity and to ensure a comprehensive network of habitats, and to work with others to ensure that habitats, features and networks are monitored, restored, enhanced and if possible created, so as to achieve a net gain in biodiversity and sustain wildlife in all areas'.
We also note that there is no specific policy upholding and/or furthering the Green Infrastructure Network, on which RDC has already done some pioneering work. That work needs to be supported by a specific policy.
