Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan - Options and Preferred Options

Representation ID: 22077

Received: 17/01/2017

Respondent: High Weald AONB Unit

Representation Summary:

No objection to the proposed allocation of site BO17. According to the Historic Landscape Characterisation BO17 is early post medieval (1500-1599) with historic field boundaries that should be protected.

No objection to the proposed allocation of the residential curtilages within BO16.

However, the pasture in the western part of the site is classified as medieval (1066-1499) aggregate assart in the Historic Landscape Characterisation and should not be developed where there are alternatives of a later origin within the village as medieval fields are a key AONB landscape component. The AONB Unit objects to the allocation of this part of BO16.
