Policy protecting landscape features needs careful consideration. Whilst there is a need to protect, there is also a need to provide for development which may in turn be in locations that have the potential to impact on the landscape. The policy should allow for development subject to landscape impacts being assessed and mitigated where possible. Development also provides an opportunity for enhancement.
