The argument that the Freda Gardham site is not suitable because of flood risk is fallacious if the flood defences are to be completed on this side of Rye. A local strategy plan should be a long term plan providing what local people actually want and need, rather than outside bodies forcing ideas on us. Why can't we wait until the flood defences are completed, and then have the type and size of super market that we want in a sensible location?
