The Coastway railway line between Ashford and Brighton is a Trans European Network route and eligible for European funding.

BRAG advocates the full upgrade and electrification of the Marshlink to enable High Speed Javelin services to run from London to Hastings and Bexhill via the Thames Gateway, Ashford and Rye. This could reduce journey times from the capital to Bexhill to just one hour and 10 minutes, creating a whole new corridor of regeneration, and making both eastern Rother and Bexhill attractive places to live and locate a business.
