Early timetable improvements to the Hastings/Ore - Victoria service to reduce the excessively long journey times. A functional timetable on the Brighton - Ashford service to maximise good connections at Ashford into new high-speed Javelin services from December 2009. Early implementation of maintenance-led improvements to increase line speeds on the Marshlink, and the installation of barriers at Winchelsea level crossing, to reduce journey times and improve safety and performance.
Re-signalling in both the Bexhill and Polegate areas to reduce headways and increase capacity.
Construction of the Willingdon Chord, a short piece of track avoiding Eastbourne, which would reduce journey times to London by up to 20 minutes.
Provision of new station at Glyne Gap to serve Ravenside, Bexhill College and local housing.
