Representation ID: 19550

Received: 25/02/2009

Respondent: Councillor Michael Ensor

Representation Summary:

The creation of the Glyne Gap Railway Station and the Wilting Railway Station are also important and should be included.
Rother should be asking ESCC to promote a growth in the scale and frequency of reliable, attractive, and accessible bus services. This will reduce car dependency. There should be a statement on the changes of car usage over the LDF period.
The use of cycles is mentioned in the LDF, but there is a need to strengthen the contribution of the cycle as a future mode transport. The new ESCC Cycle Policy has changed its approach from recreational cycling to utility cycling, therefore the Rother LDF should positively encourage defined cycle routes, and especially the cycle routes to Hastings and Eastbourne. The opportunity to promote Bexhill as a tourist destination would be enhanced if Bexhill had an improved cycle infrastructure.
