Core Strategy Consultation on Strategy Directions 2008

Representation ID: 19272

Received: 29/01/2009

Respondent: Cllr Mary Smith

Representation Summary:

Object to number of houses allocated to Rye, equivalent to 1 house for every 12 people. Bexhill's allocation is 1 house to 12.5 people. Rye's allocation is therefore disproportionate as Rye faces considerable constraints as a historic town. Infrastructure is inadequate. Employment prospects are weak and new development proposed at Rye Harbour would not be sufficient for new householders. Already heavy congestion on A259.
