We broadly support the principles set out in paragraph 4.1 on page 26 insofar as it follows the principles set out in Local Plan Policies DS1 and DS2. In this context we note that sub-paragraph (iv) of policy DS2 provides for limited growth of selected villages that contain a range of services. Northiam falls within that category. This principle should be at the top of any list as a priority, and other principles made subservient to that objective. PPS3 has now replaced PPG 3 and places different emphasis on the criteria to be used in identifying suitable location for new housing. Northiam falls within this criterion and should be considered for new housing growth.
