QUESTION 87: Do you agree with Policy RHA2 regarding the Harbour Road Industrial Estate and the proposed boundary changes? If not, how would you wish to see it amended?

Support the extension to the boundary and recommend the following changes to the policy:
(i) Proposals which result in a significant increase in vehicles, especially HGV movements at the junction of Harbour Road and the A259 will only be permitted with the agreement of the Highways Authority.
(ii) It is demonstrated that a competent person has prepared an assessment of any contamination of the site, and prepared a scheme of mitigation, together with a scheme to provide surface water drainage.

Object to the deletion of the development boundary. It should be kept. The rationale does not sit happily with the recommendations for Rye Harbour which has broadly the same level of flood risk. You should either keep both development boundaries or delete both.

The majority of patients attending Chapel Lane surgery live in Icklesham parish. While our preference would be for a site within the parish, in the absence of identifying any suitable site, we support the allocation.
