Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - 2015

3.12

Representation ID: 21870

Received: 23/09/2015

Respondent: Hurst Green Parish Council

Representation Summary:

All Parish Councillors need to see a hard copy of the planning applications received for their area in order to properly assess the application and make valid judgements on each one. Online applications are not always clear and not easy to read by many especially Councillors who are not proficient IT users. They also provide ALL residents an opportunity to view especially important for those who are not IT literate, on low incomes and where Public transport links are unavailable to view at the few sites available. Need local consultation on large projects!

Planning Committee

Representation ID: 21871

Received: 23/09/2015

Respondent: Hurst Green Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Parish Councillors feel that ALL members of the public should be allowed to speak at planning committee meetings to put their concerns forward and listen to opposing views. Obviously time limits would have to be set but RDC appears to be the only local council that does NOT LISTEN to residents views face to face!

Representation ID: 21872

Received: 23/09/2015

Respondent: Hurst Green Parish Council

Representation Summary:

People who cannot access public transport, are on low incomes and who are not IT literate are being penalised by having no local access to planning applications and all larger scale developments should have some form of locally accessibly plans and at least one meeting with planners to discuss implications. Would be useful to have at least one meeting/surgery a year in each parish with the public to discuss planning issues.

Have not up to now shown any attitude to try and reach hard to reach sections of the community! Copies of applications held in publically accessible places in each parish should be found!

Would be very useful if planners explained why they did not agree with the representations made! Would be very useful for residents and Councillors alike and inform future comments.

4.34

Representation ID: 21876

Received: 23/09/2015

Respondent: Hurst Green Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Parish Councils are not kept informed about enforcement issues and time scales seem to be open ended. Lack of transparency re enforcement issues and some seem to just slip under the wire with no action taken whilst similiar issues are taken to court. More transparency is needed here with Parish Councils informed of the action being taken and why without having to continually chase it up and being told that it comes under Data Protection and nothing can be disclosed!
