Representation Summary:

The Core Strategy is now several years old and, the Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation upon which the Core Strategy is based is out of date and, needs to be rolled forward to reflect current needs.

The provision to be made via policies GYP1 and BEX3c does not appear to bring forward any deliverable sites. If the planning permission for GYP1 has been allowed to expire, i.e. it has remained unimplemented for 3 years, why is it being assumed that the site is deliverable and, is likely to contribute to the future supply of traveller sites. The allocation in BEX3c does not give a timescale for provision and, only provides that a site be reserved for the provision of a gypsy site with up to 5 pitches. There is no commitment to provide a five-year supply of traveller pitches.

The proposed allocations will not meet the needs of the Stanley family living on the temporary gypsy site at Bramble Farm, Staplecross Road, Ewhurst and, does not provide sufficient choice. The site at Bramble Farm should be allocated to provide for the needs of the Stanley family who have lived at Bramble Farm for a considerable period of years.
