Representation Summary:

As set out in previous representations the DaSA does not provide for sufficient housing to comply with national policy. In respect of Northiam the CS large site requirement is 123 units. Applying a 20% increase in order to overcome a persistent under delivery gives a requirement at Northiam of 148 units of which 65 have been completed giving a residual requirement of 83 units.

Attached is a [map attached: www.rother.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=31132] which identifies land on the edge of Northiam which is capable of delivering 12 of those units. The site is well placed to take advantage of the existing facilities of the settlement. Visually it forms a natural extension to the existing development in Dixter Lane.

This site should be allocated in order to meet the needs of the settlement in respect of housing need and consequently make the plan sound in respect of being positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy
