Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - 2015

Received: 09/09/2015

Respondent: Southern Water

Representation Summary:

Tables A and B do not make it clear at which stages Southern Water, and other specific consultation bodies, will be consulted and how. It would also be helpful if an indication of the length of the consultation periods could be given for all the various stages of the Local Plan and Supplementary Planning Documents.

Respondent: Mr Christopher Stevens

Representation Summary:

Comments must be carried forward regardless as it shows an undemocratic judgement by RDC staff what constitutes an appropriate response. This section clearly shows the limiting of public involvement by making it as time consuming as possible for residents.

Table A, examination needs to include parameters by which the inspector holds an inquiry or representation. The refusal of admittance for basic forms of process must be avoided as occurred in the 2014 core strategy representation process.

Table a, adoption it is not clear which law or UK standard this section of the table refers.

Representation Summary:

In Table A 'Publication of the Proposed Submission Plan', you state 'comments made in response to consultation on an earlier versions are not carried forward....they need to respond again' This does not encourage or value positive and ongoing engagement from the public.
