Following on from policy RA1, sports and recreation provision across the entire district is covered at policy CO3 which seeks to ensure adequate provision by amongst other things allocating land for open space, sports and recreation purposes, and permitting proposals for the improvement of existing or provision of new facilities, in localities where deficits in facilities are identified.


As outlined above Ticehurst is identified as having a deficit of open sports facilities and as set out in detail in in our representations on the Site Allocations DPD, Banky Field has the potential to provide recreation and sports facilities to address this need. This element of the policy is therefore supported and considered to be justified.
