Representation Summary:

The policy sets out the Council's commitment to reviewing development boundaries through the Site Allocations DPD.

Representations have been made which request the development boundary at Ticehurst be reviewed to include land at Banky Field. Ticehurst is a rural service centre providing a range of services/facilities and is identified as being capable of accommodating additional development. Banky Field is located in such a position that it would not extend the physical envelope of the village and conserves the wider AONB.

This policy with its inclusion of criteria to guide the review of development boundaries is supported and considered justified/efficient.

Full text:

The policy sets out the Council's commitment to reviewing development boundaries through the preparation of the Site Allocations DPD. Policy OSS3 states that the review will be undertaken having regard to a number of issues, most particularly the availability of local infrastructure and services, accessibility to facilities and services, avoiding scattered and ribbon development and environmental considerations, including the need to conserve designated areas of national and local landscape.

Representations have already been made in respect of the Site Allocations DPD which request the development boundary at Ticehurst be reviewed to include the land at Banky Field within the village settlement. Ticehurst is a rural service centre providing a range of services and facilities and is identified as being capable of accommodating additional development. The land at Banky Field site is located in such a position that it would not extend the physical envelope of the village and would therefore conserve the wider AONB that surrounds the village.

This policy with its inclusion of criteria to guide the review of development boundaries is therefore supported and considered to be justified and efficient.
