Need to ensure adequate water supply and to plan for surface water and foul drainage. Additional water supply and waste water infrastructure will be required to meet the demand for new development.

Adopted Local Plans/LDFs provide certainty which is needed for Southern Water to plan its investment.

The Core Strategy should:

. support provision of water and waste water infrastructure
. allocate land to facilitate delivery of regional water resource schemes, including at Bewl Water/Darwell Reservoir
. secure appropriate developer contributions
. co-ordinate development with provision of necessary infrastructure

Developers should ensure long-term maintenance arrangements for Sustainable Drainage Systems.
