Need to include efficient and sustainable use of infrastructure and protection of amenity.

Efficient/sustainable use of infrastructure an important component of sustainable development.

Three ways to achieve efficient and sustainable use of water and wastewater infrastructure:-

. co-ordinated whole site approach to large sites
. separation of surface water from foul sewers
. large site sewers to adoptable standards

Propose overarching policy to promote efficient/sustainable use of infrastructure, to be consistent with PPS1.

Need to consider amenity in relation to proposals adjacent wastewater disposal and treatment facilities, in accordance with Appendix A of PPS23. The Core Strategy should have such a policy.
