We consider that the themes do not properly reflect the need to provide in a timely manner, the strategic housing requirements. Our view is that there is a probability that the overall housing numbers for the Rother District will rise. In the meantime we consider that it will be unsound to proceed on the basis that the current Structure Plan figures will provide the basis for the Core Strategy. The Preferred Options stage of the Core Strategy should therefore either be delayed until the regional context becomes clear or it should be robust enough to possibly accommodate substantially higher levels of housing.
