You may wish to include something on the council's Great Crested Newt District Licence within the new plan. This would help highlight the District Licensing Scheme that Rother District Council are a part of and can offer to developers, as well as how it is supporting great crested newt conservation by the creation of habitat. We have fed into other LPA Local Plan consultations and can provide you with wording on the District Licence Scheme to accompany your Biodiversity Policies, as well as assessing allocated sites.

We can provide wording for site allocations being taken forward in the Local Plan and that may have an impact on Great Crested Newts - we can assess proposed allocated sites to determine whether information on great crested newts is likely to be needed, as well as to highlight that the council have this licensing option available to developers. Please contact us if this is something you are interested in.
