Concern that paragraph. 2.17 might be taken as somewhat dismissive of the potential archaeological remains. The advice of the county archaeologist, or your own advisor should be sought on the extent to which pre-determination investigation is required having regard to PPG16 and paragraph. 5.25 of the adopted Local Plan.

The reference made in paragraph 3.14 to Policy GD1 and, apart from the design matters, to impact upon the natural features and resources, it is preferable for the reference to be broader to include the historic environment.
