We are particularly pleased to see the recognition that appropriate infrastructure is required to support growth, specifically foul and surface water infrastructure. The reference to Sustainable Drainage Systems is also a positive move.

Area Strategy A -It is important to remember when considering the linkages between Bexhill and Hastings, that the Combe Haven area is a natural buffer between the two towns. The area has both flood risk and biodiversity Issues which will of course influence the decisions made In this area.

The issue of re-use of previously developed land, and potential contamination is important for this District particularly within the Rye Harbour area; As you know, the Agency has had extensive involvement in the identification of contamination and pollution of controlled waters in this location. This should be considered in the Area Strategy for Rye.
