With respect to GYP 0002 it is impossible to grasp how the planners imagine this tract of land is in any way practical or suitable for permanent traveller pitches.
According to the Department of Communities and Local Government's Planning Policy for Traveller Sites:
"25. Local planning authorities should very strictly limit new traveller site development in open countryside that is away from existing settlements or outside areas allocated in the development plan. Local planning authorities
should ensure that sites in rural areas respect the scale of, and do not dominate, the nearest settled community, and avoid placing an undue pressure on the local infrastructure."
Means of access are woefully inadequate, such a facility would clearly dominate the settled community adjacent to it, impact on the local environment and infrastructure would be intolerable and there is no proximity to social, welfare and cultural services.

Regarding GYP 0002 it is difficult to understand how this piece of land could ever be considered suitable given Local Government’s own planning policies for Traveller Sites.
The area in question is in the National Landscape (which has the highest level of protection) and the policy states that “there should be no development in a green belt except in exceptional circumstances”, of which there are none.
This coupled with the fact that access to this land would be inadequate and indeed hazardous; the land frequently floods and any development would impact wildlife with loss of important habitat make this site highly unsuitable.
