Rother Local Plan 2020-2040 (Regulation 18)

Representation ID: 25364

Received: 13/07/2024

Respondent: Mr Nicholas Fairrie

Representation Summary:

This is the sort of thing that can and clearly does happen when you allow developers to argue for exception site criteria to be applied to tracts of land they own which clearly do not meet the existing neighbourhood plan and local plan criteria for housing development.

To allow yourselves to be forced into applying exception site criteria to facilitate traveller site development in clearly unsuitable locations would be extremely injudicious since it would expose the council to having to defend the indefensible by violating their own housing policies! Please see the attached article, by way of elucidation concerning Mid Sussex District Council back in 2020.
