RDC should accept that some people quite like the peace and quiet of the countryside. It is not
considered by those people to be social isolation. It is a life choice of many. Having said that, when
people age, family members die and people wish to downsize and be nearer to others, rentable
accommodation at the heart of small communities where access to better facilities is available could
be one answer. I could be persuaded to favour the development of a small retirement estate at the
heart of our village if it freed up housing elsewhere. There was a plan to do this in the village I believe
25 years ago.
