The fifth bullet point should also address the preservation of the area's intrinsically dark skies: -

Well constructed priorities but must be adhered to and not allowed to be diluted which, if did happen, would lead to the eventual ignoring of local priorities. Brownfield sites with infrastructure already in place should be redeveloped first. Just because a development in a rural area may allow healthier living for the new residents, does not mean those already living near the development will have a healthy living environment during the build (probably a year of building hell) and post build.

It is unclear what is meant by "improvements to green infrastructure". I should like to see an explicit reference to mandating/encouraging wildlife corridors at large and (especially) small scales to support biodiversity recovery.

Targets. The Local Plan identifies some areas where it proposes targets for improvement which are significantly ahead of national norms. Whilst at one level this may be commendable, it may present a risk if, for example, it is going to lead to the relevant policies being subject to periodic complaint or legal challenge leading to unnecessary costs.

The priorities are totally wrong. The environment and the delivery of facilities for the existing
residents should be the priority, not more housing, which will not remain low cost for long if built, see
“quality of life enhanced” above.
