Need to encourage working people and not just the elderly. Why can't there be commuter buses so people can get to train stations? Eg why isn't there a bus from Hurst Green to Etchingham station for commuters? Plus green if people can avoid using separate cars

For the sake of the mental and physical needs of present and future residents, please include smaller areas of green space within sites for homes as a sense of personal space and privacy is very important to most people of all age groups. Areas to be able to walk around and bench seating with planting nearby would allow developed areas to "breathe". Any play provision for children should be placed sensitively and with some degree of overlooking for safety reasons.

Lack of public transport and local amenities will make this very difficult in all four settlements within Icklesham Parish. None of the wards have a docotor surgery with the closes ones being in Rye and Hastings. Two of the wards do have primary schools however these are very small schools and will not be able to cope with large intakes of new pupils. Winchelsea Beach does have a Co-Op and Winchelsea and Rye Harbour have small shops however these shops are not suitable for a weekly food shop.
Although there is a bus service in each settlement, the bus service in insufficient and at times unreliable. Buses run through Icklesham and Winchelsea once an hour to Rye and Hastings Monday to Saturday and this decreases to one every two hours on a Sunday. In Rye Harbour there is no bus service at all on a Sunday.

The proposed over-development along with no plan for additional health or education provision doesn't seem to align with this vision.
Cycling is proposed with no proposals to add cycle lanes or to make footpaths cyclable (cycling on country roads is not a good idea) and no additional public transport has been proposed for Battle. The suggestion that we should have something similar to zipcar is not well thought out.

The local surgery for medical care was not consulted on previous developments at Lilybank,Nightingale Place and Field way or the new nursing home.Martins Oak Surgey have premises built in 1746 that cannot absorb more housing.We already hot desk and have no more capacity.Some of our clinical areas are not suitable for disabled or frail patients.Asking us to take on more and more is not sustainable and just means the overall service will deteriate.We are no exception to the national crisis in recruitment in General Practice and cannot simple just take on more.Getting prompt access to care will become more and more difficult.

I love living in Rye and being part of its vibrant creative community. The many art classes and workshops offered at the Rye Creative Centre (Freda Gardham). Music and theatre events as well as all the creative clubs that need space and nurturing to keep them going by the community, I believe this has decreased by 1,000 residents between census due to an increase in holiday let. We are lucky to have open parks, allotments, community gardens, leisure centres, sports clubs but a community is dwindling.

Live well Locally.
"2.9 Live Well Locally promotes the idea that residents of all ages, abilities and backgrounds should be able to access their daily needs (housing, work, food, health, education and culture and leisure) as locally as possible and have the option to do this by walking, wheeling, cycling or by public transport."
Living well locally and having access housing work etc is dependent on there being adequate provision of accommodation, work opportunities, medical facilities, schools etc. all of which the district council has no control and little influence. You are unable to provide 'council housing' outside of allowing commercial development you have no power to create employment and the provision of schools and medical services do not fall within your purview.
The level of homelessness, difficulties in obtaining timely medical appointments and treatment coupled with an inadequate transport infrastructure and services (again outside your control) make delivery of this "priority" a noble but impossible task.
