Biodiversity net gain is transparent greenwashing which fools nobody.
You can't destroy ancient trees and wildlife habitats then throw up a few bird / bat boxes on the side of houses and plant a few saplings that die with the first dry summer then claim there has been a net gain to biodiversity.

Developers will try and argue biodiversity net gain on all sites, by undertaking surveys of what they
perceive to be the current biodiversity. We had this with the Normanhurst application. The big
problem with this is that the submitted surveys are bought and paid for by the developers, so of
course they are going to skew the results to demonstrate a net gain in favour of the application.
Nature, left to itself will manage it's own biodiversity, without the help of speculators that have little
interest in biodiversity.
