We have not got the infrastructure in place for further Battle residents, since the latest estate was built it is more difficult to get quick access to Doctors and Dentists and Prescriptions. The North Trade Road is already congested, full of pot holes and dangerous to the local school children, with large lorries and trucks driving close to the pavements. We will lose the rural green areas which make a small place like Battle what it is. We pay the highest council tax rates to live in a quieter more rural area. Battle will lose it's historical feeling and views, the protected wildlife and birds which are thriving at the moment. Battle is already over busy it will create the loss of this Historical quaint town.

I disagree that the Local Plan gives any weight to the climate emergency or the economic, community or infrastructure needs. Nor does it protect the landscapes, habitats or heritage. Indeed, the entire focus is on building on greenfield with complete dismissal of smaller or brownfield opportunities.
I would agree that you have recognised the need for housing - albeit not at all aligned to the local need.

The proposed site is down a small lane without pavements - there is no infrastructure with very narrow entrances to both ends of the lane. In recent months just to service the current houses in the lane a farmers field next to the proposed site had to be disturbed to replace a sewage pipe - how will this support 14 extra properties. The water run off from this proposed site already adds to flooding at the end of the lane. The assessment proposes to grow trees to merge the new houses into the countryside however omits to say how devastating the removal of half the ancient trees along the lane will be to provide an access road.
