Rother Local Plan 2020-2040 (Regulation 18)

Representation ID: 24831

Received: 07/06/2024

Respondent: Mr James Cook

Representation Summary:

Why should "Ensure vehicular access avoids ... country lanes" Most farms are down country lanes. the lane infrastructure is there to support the agricultural industry, and having some townee who has moved to the country and doesn't like the idea of a 29 tonne grain lorry coming down a country lane a few times a year need to understand that it is our workplace and we have been there much longer that they will be.

Why should holiday lets be "only" in redundant farm buildings. Where there is a local attraction or attractions and associated a demand for holiday lets, adding more capacity should be encouraged for the money it brings into the economy.

The thing about farmers, they tend to spend their money locally, either on local services and labour, (Markets, fencing contractor etc.) or within the UK. The majority of our machinery and equipment is UK built
