Regarding Policy BEX 16: London Road - Sackville Road Enhancement Area

This has always been my normal walking route into Bexhill shopping area also the use of shops in London Road. I agree that there is a neglected feel here and small businesses are in need of support for an improved environment without disruption for easy access for pedestrians and traffic. Congestion of London Road is spasmodic i.e. time of day, delivery vehicles /buses, phasing of A259 cross road traffic lights and the junction London Road. Beeching Road.

In all the proposals for the enhancement of Bexhill please take into serious consideration the disabled especially those with sight loss, during all construction work and keeping clear straight pathways devoid of flower tubs, cycle racks and shop "A frame" or similar boards on completion together with NO shared spaces (areas for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians) as these in other towns are a hazard for the visually impaired, and in some being corrected to road and pavement areas.

Thank you for the large print copy of proposed Local Plan for Bexhill.

I request any further details/plans/Public Notices especially relating to "Pages 131/3 9/54 Site Allocation: Land at former High School Site and Drill Hall, Down Road, Bexhill and Pages 165/7 London Road - Sackville Road Enhancement Area to be sent to me in Large Print due to my being registered Sight Impaired.

During my years as resident at the above address since 1974 there have been many changes, with the building of Coombe Valley Way having an enormous impact on my health and well-being.

Regarding works planned re pages 131-133, I cannot understand the reasons for putting a 100 bed hotel on this site, surely a hotel in the Bexhill seafront cultural area or south of the railway line would be more appropriate, but size should take into consideration the impact of any large hotel in Bexhill affecting the present holiday accommodation.

Will the present/leisure centre building continue in use on this site during surrounding construction?

Concern regarding the building of dwellings; are there the expected services available for new residents especially doctors' surgeries? Access to this site via the narrow Downs Road is a hazard to the safety of the local school pupils and the movement of vehicles especially during construction.

I agree this site cannot be left in this present state but the proposals are not practical due to limited access.
