Development and Site Allocations (DaSA) Local Plan - Options and Preferred Options

Representation ID: 22666

Received: 20/02/2017

Respondent: Mr. Pete Roberts

Agent: Mrs Iona Cameron

Representation Summary:

Please update the revisions to the Northiam Development Boundary to include Land to the rear of Valencia on Station Road. The undeveloped land is situated in between the Persimmon Homes site for 66 new dwellings, now known as Oak Heights and Timber Lodge where two detached homes have been already constructed. Its inclusion within the updated development boundaries would be a 'natural rounding off' and provide an opportunity for a self-build / custom-build housing project subject to other policies in the Local Plan.

Revisions to the Development Boundary in Figure 105 should be extended to include 'Land to the rear of Valencia' on Station Road. The land is situated in between the new Oak Heights development for 66 dwellings and 'Timber Lodge' where two detached homes have recently been constructed. Land to the rear of Valencia is therefore now surrounded by housing along both the southwest and northeast boundaries. Its inclusion within the updated development boundary would be a 'natural rounding off' and an ideal opportunity for a self-build / custom build housing project subject to other policies in the Local Plan.
