"evidence relating to the tourist market in Battle suggests a relative under-supply of guest house accommodation and a need for more tourist accommodation within the town itself (as opposed to the rural periphery)"
It is noted that this policy states there is no evidence of a need to develop tourist accommodation outside the settlement of Battle and in the rural periphery.
This evidence accords with the national policy of promoting sustainable tourism development within service centres and settlements and restricting development outside settlement development boundaries in the wider countryside.
