Better links to London will not assist the current problem of local people on local wages being able to afford housing. Better links to London will only open up the market even more to the commuter market, something that villages really do not need. Where is the proof that this is a disadvantage to the area? The advantage of local people being able to buy houses where they were born must outway the advantages of opening up to the commuter trade.
